Our Story

Seven Roots Academy was founded to address the lack of culturally grounded childcare options available to families. As an Indigenous-owned centre, our foundation is shaped by Indigenous perspectives that emphasize respect, connection, responsibility, and care for the natural world. These values guide everything we do from how we build relationships with families to how children experience their daily learning. While our roots are Indigenous, our doors are open to all families. We welcome diversity and believe that children grow stronger when they learn in inclusive, respectful communities.

Grounded in Indigenous Perspectives

Community Heart

Our approach reflects Indigenous teachings that honour the interconnectedness of all living things. Children are encouraged to develop respect for one another, appreciation for nature, and confidence in who they are.

Spirit of the Child

Through holistic development and land-based learning experiences, we support the whole child — emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively.

Respect for the Land

Children spend meaningful time outdoors, engage with natural materials, and build relationships rooted in reciprocity and care.

Our Commitment

At Seven Roots Academy, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where every child feels valued and every family feels respected. We believe early childhood is not only preparation for school — it is the foundation for lifelong confidence, identity, and connection. We look forward to growing alongside the families we serve.
